  • The new Work Safe Leader initiative was initiated by the Canada Safety Council as a value-add recognition program for employers that demonstrate a commitment to the Driver for Hire Online Training and to the continued advancement of driver and road safety. This no-charge program provides recognition to any Canadian fleet employer (e.g., taxi, rideshare, delivery, corporate fleet, etc.) that attains Driver for Hire completion certificates for at least 70% (min.) of drivers that they register for the free online training. Employers achieving the Work Safe Leader designation are provided with a recognition package including a confirmation and congratulatory letter from the Canada Safety Council, Work Safe Leader decals for display at their place of business/vehicles, a digital version of the decal for use on their website, social media posts, or to be added to any print materials. The company will also be acknowledged by the Canada Safety Council and it’s Driver for Hire partners on the training website and social media channels.
  • Getting started towards your Work Safe Leader designation is simple! Just REGISTER your company for the NO-COST Online Training and forward the training link provided to your drivers to get them started with the online training. Once a minimum of 70% of your registered drivers complete the course, your recognition begins! Stand out to your employees and customers as a Work Safe Leader committed to road safety.

Driver for Hire training was developed by the Canada Safety Council, the largest road safety organization in Canada, along with Subject Matter Experts in safe driving, regulations, and customer service. Driver for Hire Online Training will compliment and elevate standard driver training and licensing. It will support driver readiness and offer safety and customer service upskilling for those drivers working for companies that require the transport of people/product and interaction with customers and the public. It will give drivers (and prospective drivers) an additional skillset to not only build more confidence on the road, but to better position them for employment.
